Jamaica Me Clean Day Hosted by JBIC

The Jamaica Beach Improvement Committee (JBIC) will be holding a “Jamaica Me Clean Day” activity on Saturday April 15th, 2023. All homeowners are invited and encouraged to help support this activity. The plan is to gather at 8:00 am at the park pavilion and divide into teams to tackle predetermined areas in our community to clean up and plant plants (JBIC will provide the plants). For this first activity we will focus on the following areas:
 
Teams
Areas to be "cleaned" on April 15:
1. Bob Smith - pick up trash from FM 3005 to Bay.
2. The Marina- pick up trash and trim small palm trees.
3. Flower Bed on Southeast side of FM 3005 and Buccaneer (beach side). Clean up and plant plants.
4. Flower Bed on Southwest side of FM 3005 and Buccaneer (beach side). Clean up and plant plants
5. Jolly Roger on State Park side. Pick up trash and trim small palm trees.
6. Pick up trash on beach and around JB store.
 
We will work until noon or so then return to the pavilion for hotdogs, water and sodas.Bring your gloves, clippers, shovels, trash bags, chainsaws, weed eaters, bug spray, water, etc., or whatever you feel will be best to accomplish the task.This is a great opportunity to get our community together to beautify Jamaica Beach.  Please encourage your children to join in.  They can earn community service hours for student school activities or college applications. Kevin and Cheryl Bell of Bell Property Team, who own a home in Jamaica Beach, are sponsoring the hotdogs and refreshments (no alcoholic beverages allowed in the pavilion) so a big thank you to them!
